The Hungry Minds lane

When the off-the-shelf course gets ignored

Most compliance training is built to be completed, not to be used. People click through it, the completion rate looks fine, and the behaviour it was meant to change carries on unchanged. That is the problem we get called about.

Boring is the real compliance risk

When training is dull, people race through it on autopilot and forget it by lunch. The completion gets logged, the behaviour has not budged, and the risk is still sitting there.

What a custom build actually changes

A generic course teaches the rule. A custom one puts your people in the situations where the rule is hard to follow, using your policies, your systems and the language your organisation actually uses.

  • Scenarios drawn from incidents and near-misses in your own organisation
  • Your policy wording and escalation paths, not a generic version
  • Role-specific paths, so managers and frontline staff get different training
  • Jurisdictional variation handled properly where you operate across states
  • Measurement beyond completion: what changed in behaviour and reporting

How we work

Hungry Minds runs the Learning Architecture Framework and a published Quality Rubric on every build. In plain terms: we agree what behaviour has to change before anyone writes a screen, and we check the finished thing against that, not against a word count.

  1. Analyse. What behaviour is going wrong, and why. Usually this is not a knowledge gap.
  2. Design. The scenarios, the assessment, the path each role takes. Signed off before build starts.
  3. Develop. Built to WCAG 2.2 AA, in your brand, on your LMS or ours.
  4. Implement. Rollout, manager briefing, comms. Training that lands needs more than a launch email.
  5. Evaluate. Against the behaviour, not the completion rate.

When you should not do this

If you need a legislated topic covered quickly across a large workforce and nobody is complaining about the current training, an off-the-shelf course is the right call and cheaper. We will tell you that. The catalogue is here, and the off-the-shelf lane is delivered with our partner Safetrac.

Compliance training that runs as a campaign

One course, once a year, is how compliance training gets forgotten. A campaign spaces the content, gives managers something to run with, and measures what changed. It is the approach Hungry Minds uses when the goal is behaviour rather than a completion record. See how Hungry Minds runs learning campaigns.

Tell us what is not working

Not a sales call. Describe the problem and we will tell you whether it needs a custom build, a campaign, or just a better off-the-shelf course.
